In a unanimous vote at their June 2 meeting, the Stockbridge Community Schools Board of Education selected Jeffrey Trapp to be their next superintendent. Trapp previously served as a teacher and is a principal in the district. The Board of Education's selection was supported by an inclusive process. Selection criteria were generated based on community input via in-person meetings and an online survey. Community members provided immediate feedback to board members during preliminary and final candidate interviews, including additional questions to ask the candidates. The Board of Education is grateful for the district's engaged citizens and staff support of the process.
STOCKBRIDGE, MI — Stockbridge Community Schools (SCS) today announced the receipt of two Michigan Department of Education Section 61v CTE Expansion grants totaling $565,206. This funding is part of a statewide $24.2 million investment to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) in rural communities, helping bridge the opportunity gap and provide direct access to high-demand career training.

Due to retirements, two seats on the Board of Education have become available. Individuals interested in serving are invited to submit a letter of interest and a resume to Jessica Lane @ lanej@panthernet.net
The Board of Education will review all applications and appoint new trustees to serve until the next regular election.
The application deadline is Friday December 12, 2025 at 3:00pm.
