Welcome to Stockbridge Community Education. Our goal is to provide opportunities for emotional, physical and social growth and learning. We offer enrichment and recreational programs for preschool age through adulthood. We update this site regularly for available classes.

Community Education will no longer except registrations through the community education webpage. Please go to the new registration hosted through Teamsanp and create an account and search for Stockbridge Community Education and choose the appropratie season.

Stockbridge Community Schools does not offer high school completion or GED preparatory classes.

Basketball, Red Cedar Travel League Girls Grades 7 & 8, $75.00 Current mask guidelines MUST be followed for players and spectators to participate.

Deadline: Closed for 2021-22 School Year

The program will consist of six to eight weeks of games and a possible final tournament, involving travel to other schools for some games in addition to practices held during the week.  Depending on interest, we may have a silver and gold team at each grade level.  Coaches will set their own practice schedule.  Practices to start the week of October 25, 2022.  Schedule is subject to change.  Games will be Saturdays/Sundays, November to December 2022.

Basketball, Non-Travel: Y5 -2nd Grade, $40.00 

Registration Deadline: January 7, 2022

Players will work on fun drills to improve skills and play a short scrimmage-type game. Players will have the opportunity to show their stuff at halftime or between games on Friday, February 4, 2022. The fee includes a t-shirt.  Please be prompt in picking up your player.

Instructors

Varsity boys' basketball coaches Jacob Robidou and Brian Johnson and members of the Stockbridge High School basketball teams. Masks MUST be worn in all school buildings. This program is a fundraiser for the Boys Basketball Programs.

This league is offered through the Capital Area Soccer League for players born 2003-2012 and will provide a field of play closer-resembling what is experienced in high school. Players ages 10-12 may play 9th grade versus 9th grade. Ages 12-19 may play 11the grade versus 11th grade on a high school regulation field. Games will be September 11 to November 6. Teams are based on the age a player turns in 2021. A $25.00 Late fee will apply for any registration received after 4 pm on July 15, 2021 Price marked above reflects an increase.

Registration Deadline

Soccer Non-Travel, Grades K-1,  Registration is now closed until fall 2022.

Players will do drill & skill work for the first half and then divide up to play supervised scrimmages for the second half of practice. Players will meet twice per week.  Mondays' and Wednesdays' time options are 4:30-5:30 or 5:45-6:45, class sizes may be limited.  Current guidelines and requirements for masks and social distancing will be followed. 

Soccer Non-Travel, Grades 2-3, Days and times of practice will vary by coach.

Games will be played on weekday evenings or on Saturday mornings.  Practices begin the end of April and will be determined by the coach.  Students will play at Heritage Elementary School field.  Current guidelines and requirements for masks and social distancing will be followed.

Daddy Daughter Dance, Grades Preschool-7th grade, $20 per couple

Hey dads, grandpas and uncles!  Enjoy a night of great fun with a special young lady.  We have an exciting night with DJ Don Lockhart spinning your favorite tunes.  Girls will receive a flower and a photo keepsake sent home from school after the event.  Treats and punch will be provided.  First come, first served basis until maximum capacity is reached.  Please register soon! NO DROP-INS and no telephone registrations.  Each girl MUST have her own escort over the age of 18. *We are including 7th grade girls this year, as they couldn’t attend their last dance last school year!*

Practically Perfect Puppy I & II Ages 10 weeks to 1 year

Start your puppy out right with this six-week class. Pups learn basic manners while having fun and increasing the bond with their handlers.  Tuesdays, 6:00-6:45 pm, $110 per 6-week session.

Adult Dog Obedience Ages 1 year and up

This class incorporates basic household manners. Learn how to effectively communicate with your dog so he/she will come, sit, down and stay. Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 pm, $110 per 6-week session.

Hunter Safety at Chelsea Rod & Gun Club, $10- TBD

Hunter Safety is required by law for anyone to receive his/her first hunting license. An instruction book must be picked up at Stockbridge Community Education prior to the first class. All classes are held at Chelsea Rod & Gun Club at 7103 Lingane Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118. Classes are both Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on dates listed. Pre-registration and payment required to attend. Cost is $10.

Strip Quilting with Rose, $40

The first night you will decide on a pattern and get yardage requirements. The techniques taught will enable you to have your quilt top done in eight weeks. Color, fabric , batting and backing choices will also be covered in class. Instructor, Rose Reinhardt. Choice of class on Wednesday night or Thursday night. Class, TBD. 

Cardio Drumming, $5 Mondays and Wednesdays

No registration needed. $5/night drop in (first class is free!) One hour continuous workout & cool down with Brianna Cool. Everyone needs to bring:

  • 17-gallon rope bucket
  • 65cm or 75cm exercise ball
  • Drumsticks (you can buy a set from the instructor for $5)

Open Gym, $2/night

No registration needed. Come dressed to play with your friends for an evening of supervised basketball. Parents are welcome too! Please bring your player to the time according to his/her grade. This is enforced for safety reasons. Students must remain in the gym until they sign out when leaving. Locker rooms will not be open.

  • Players in grades 3-7 - playtime is 6:00-7:55pm
  • Players in grades 8-12 - playtime is 8:00-9:55pm

Schedule may change without warning, please confirm we have open gym before leaving your player. Located in Stockbridge High School Jr. High gym, come in the back door, 416 North Clinton St, Stockbridge. Check for the updated schedule online.

Stockbridge Adult Co-Ed "Dive and Spike" Volleyball, $2/night 

No registration needed. Adults welcome for an evening of pickup volleyball. Teams will be split each week.  Coordinator Cyndi Eibler. May start late on nights with Stockbridge Middle School volleyball or basketball games. Located in Stockbridge Junior/Senior High Gym, 416 North Clinton Street, Stockbridge.
