Welcome to Stockbridge Community Education. Our goal is to provide opportunities for emotional, physical and social growth and learning. We offer enrichment and recreational programs for preschool age through adulthood. We update this site regularly for available classes.

Stockbridge Community Schools does not offer high school completion or GED preparatory classes.

Class Descriptions

CASL Spring Travel Soccer

Registration Deadline: February 28, 2020

This league is offered through the Capital Area Soccer League for players born 2001-2010 and will provide a field of play closer-resembling what is experienced in High School. Players ages 10-12, may play 9 v 9; Ages 12-19 may play 11 v 11 on a HS regulation field. Practices may begin in Mid March and games will be played Saturday's, Sunday's or Monday' evenings starting April 11 thru May 31, 2020.  Teams are based on the age a player turns in 2020. Scholarship money MAY be available for families who currently receive free or reduced lunch, however, is not guaranteed.  If student has a current orange and white reversible Stockbridge Community jersey, the fee is $80 if registered before February 14, 2020. If student needs an orange and white reversible Stockbridge Community jersey, the fee is $100 if registered before February 14, 2020. To avoid a $25 late fee, charged by CASL, register by February 14, 2020.  Save an extra $10 if registered before February 1, 2020.

Daddy Daughter Dance, $20 per couple

Registration Deadline: January 24, 2020

Calling all dads, grandpas and uncles for our Daddy Daughter Dance! Enjoy a night of great fun with a special young lady. We have an exciting night with DJ Don Lockhart spinning your favorite tunes. Girls will receive a small gift to help them remember the evening. Cookies and punch will be provided.  First come, first serves basis until maximum capacity is reached. Please register soon!  NO DROP-INS and no telephone registrations. Each girl MUST have her own escort over the age of 18. Join us Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Heritage School Cafeteria.  Please register according to your young lady's grade. Special note: we added preschool to the fun this time!

LEGO Club,$36 Wednesday's, February 5-March 18, 2020

For grades 3rd -6th from 3:35pm to 4:45pm 

Kids come join other LEGO maniacs with Coordinator Mrs. Sam Huber. There will be a fun theme each week and activities to take home to try with your own LEGO set.  In class, students will build and create original designs using our LEGO collection. We will take pictures of their creations and, if it's OK with the kids, we will post them on our Community Ed Facebook page.  Each registered participant will receive a LEGO minifigure to keep! No class Wednesday, March 11th due to parent to parent-teacher conferences.

Dog Training with Julie Glair, $98 January 7 - February 11, 2020

Practically Perfect Puppy I & II Ages 10 weeks to 1 year.

Start your puppy out right with this 6 week class. Pups learn basic manners while having fun and increasing the bond with their handlers. Tuesdays, 6:00-6:45 pm, $98 per 6 week session.

Adult Dog Obedience Ages 1 year and up.

This class incorporates basic household manners. Learn how to effectively communicate with your dog so he/she will come, sit, down and stay. Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 pm, $98 per 6 week session.

Hunter Safety at Chelsea Rod & Gun Club, $10

Hunter Safety is required by law for anyone to receive his/her first hunting license. An instruction book must be picked up at Stockbridge Community Education prior to the first class. All classes are held at Chelsea Rod & Gun Club at 7103 Lingane Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118. Classes are both Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on dates listed. Pre-registration and payment required to attend. Cost is $10. Upcoming class dates are April 25-26 and August 8-9, 2020.

Red Cedar Volleyball for Girls Grades 5-8, $65

Registration deadline: Friday, January 24, 2020

Join your friends or meet up with teammates to keep the volley going! This travel, recreation option, will help you keep in tip top shape or get your started on learning the game. Coordinated through the Red Cedar League, 2-3 Matches (6-9 games) will be played each weekend starting in February thru March on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Each participant will need gym shoes and knee pads. Practices will be scheduled at coaches' discretion.  This is a good opportunity for 6th graders to prepare for team tryouts in the fall and and excellent opportunity for 5th grade students to learn the game. Volunteer coaches are needed to make this a success. Registration includes a game t-shirt.

Strip Quilting with Rose, $40

The first night you will decide on a pattern and get yardage requirements. The techniques taught will enable you to have your quilt top done in 8 weeks. Color, fabric , batting and backing choices will also be covered in class. Instructor, Rose Reinhardt. Choice of class on Wednesday night or Thursday night, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Stay tuned for next available class in the winter. Cost is $40. Location of class is at Heritage School, 222 Western Street, Room 113.
