Class Descriptions

BASKETBALL

Girls, Grades 7 & 8                                    Due Oct.1                                               $75 

The program will consist of six to eight weeks of games, and a possible final tournament, involving travel to other schools for some games in addition to practices held during the week. Depending on the interest, we may have a silver and a gold team at each grade level. Coaches will set their own practice schedule. Practices may start in mid-Oct. Schedule subject to change. Games, Sat/Sun., Nov. 10 – Dec. 16

Boys & Girls, Grades 3- 6                       Due Oct. 1                                              $75

Eight weeks of games, plus a final tournament. Involves travel to other schools in addition to practices held during the week. Parents are responsible for transportation to games and for paying admission at away games. Depending on the interest, we may have a silver and a gold team at each level. Coaches will set their own practice schedule. Practices may start in mid-November. Players receive a shirt. Games Sat., Dec. 1- Feb. 24

Boys & Girls Grades  K-2                        Due Dec. 10                                           $40

Players will work on drills and play scrimmage-type games.  Each player should bring a water bottle with his/her name on it. The players will have the chance to play during half time at a High School basketball game. The fee includes a t-shirt. Please be prompt in picking up your player. Supervised by SHS Coaches and players and is a fundraiser for HS Basketball Program.  Heritage Gym, Thurs, Jan. 10–Feb. 7, 5:30-6:30 or  6:45 – 7:45pm

Wee Wats Basketball                               Due Jan. 18                                           $25

Meet Tuesdays for 4 weeks.  Focus on fun activities that teach basketball skills and drills and if all goes well, we may eventually have “games” between “teams.”  All participants will receive a junior-sized basketball to keep.  Ages 4-5.  Once/week for 4 weeks, Dates TBD     6:15 – 7pm  Smith ELC.

Dog Training with Julie Glair
Minimum age for handlers is 14 years.  Vaccinations are STRONGLY recommended.  Please bring to class:  any collars you currently have, a six-foot, leather or nylon web leash
- No chain or retractable leashes allowed.
small, soft, easily eaten training treats for your dog. Dogs that display aggression towards other dogs or people are not permitted in group classes. Private training is available for problem behaviors.

Practically Perfect Puppy I & II
Ages 10 weeks to 1 year
Start your puppy out right with this 6-week class. Young dogs want and need to know their place in your family and with others.  Pups learn basic manners while having fun
and increasing the bond with their handlers.
Tuesdays, 6:00-6:45 pm          $86/session

Adult Dog Obedience
 Ages 1 year & Up
“Come” learn how to effectively communicate with your dog so he/she will come, sit, down, and stay.  This class also incorporates basic household manners.
Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 pm              $86/session

Strip Quilting with Rose
The first night you will decide on a pattern and get yardage requirements. The techniques taught will enable you to have your quilt top done in 8 weeks. Color, fabric, batting and backing choices will also be covered in class. Instructor, Rose Reinhardt.
Wednesdays, October 10 – December 12 Or Thursdays, October 11 – December 13
No meeting November 7, 8, 21 or 22 (Next Quilt Class will begin March 2019)

 Fall 2018 Non-Travel Soccer for Grades 2-3.  Register by September 7, 2018. 
Games may be played weekday evenings or on Saturday mornings September 15-October 13. Practices begin early September and will be determined by the coach.  Includes game shirt $59/5 weeks.  (register and pay by September 3 and save $10!)

Fall 2018 Non-Travel Soccer for Grades K-1.   Register by September 7, 2018.  
Practices and games will take place on Tuesday and Thursday nights September 11–October 11, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Players will do drill & skill work for the first half and then be divided up to play supervised games for the second half of practice. Includes team shirt.  $49/5 weeks.  (register and pay by September 3 and save $10!)

Fall 2018 Wee-Wats Pre-K Soccer - Register by September 17, 2018.
In-House, Non-Travel Soccer for Ages 3-4. Shin Guards or Cleats are NOT required.  Players will meet once a week for 4 weeks on the field near Smith Elementary School.  Each meeting we’ll focus on skills & drills and finish with a game between teams.  Monday nights.   Fee includes ball to keep!  September 24, October 1, 8, 15.  5:30 – 6:15 pm  $25/4 weeks.     

Hunter Safety August 11 and 12, September 15 and 16, or October 6 and 7
Hunter Safety is required by law for anyone to receive his/her first hunting license. An instruction book must be picked up at Stockbridge Community Education and completed prior to the first class. Pre-registration/payment is required.  Please bring a sack lunch, drink, pen and pencil.  Please leave all firearms and ammunition at home.  Class will be held at the Chelsea Rod & Gun Club, 7103 Lingane Road, Chelsea, MI  48118,  9am – 3pm.

Open Gym

As of March 11, Saturday Night Open Gym at the High School is now finished. There will be no open gym on Saturday, March 18 or 25. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
